Oops...

So I missed a blogging Monday. I was actually working on the picture for this post since I didn't get to do any artwork over the weekend (had to enjoy the sunny goodness while it lasted!) Overall, I'm okay with it. I know there's a ton of things I need to work on, but if I work on this picture even more, I'm just going to ruin it. And I'll go crazy just looking at the thing again. In the end, I'll just keep practicing with every illustration I do.

On a side note, I bought my ticket for Friday attendance at Wonder Con! Woo hoo! Just a couple more days. I'm just worried that I might overspend. We shall see...

Here's the other doodle I was working on. The outline is finished but I'm just messing around with the colors for now. I still don't know what to do with her. Any suggestions?

*Additional stuff added on 3/30* Since I don't know how to message other people on Blogger (hey, I'm still new to this. Leave me alone =j ) I just want to say thanks Brad, for the flower idea. I think I just might do that! And is it me, or does my girl kind of look like America Ferrera? I didn't use her at all as inspiration either...weird!

Finally started painting the mermaid. Here's some pics.

Let's see, what's new...I didn't get much done last week in terms of any new art because a greeting card I was working on was wracking the heck out of my brain. I can't post pictures of it just yet because I'm not sure the recipients have received it. Pictures will be posted, don't worry. 

I just finished doing some more color comps, and I think I found the one. I've already got the final line work down on paper, I just have to start painting, dammit! I also started messing with this doodle I had in my sketchbook for awhile. I brought it into Illustrator and started doing some line work on it, but as far as finishing it, I have no idea what my plans are.

On a good note, my business cards are done! Albeit they are home-made (what can I say? money's super tight.) And on a side note, never get the pre-cut business card paper. What a waste of money! At least that's another thing to cross of the ol' checklist just in time for Wonder Con.

So since I don't have pictures of that stuff I just mentioned, I'll post pictures of my new creative outlet, Sculpey figures. I decided to try it out since it seemed like it was easy to work with, and let me tell you, it is. I've made about four little figures so far. These pics are of my first attempt at making something, so give me a break.

I feel bad that I haven't really started on an illustration yet. But today I did a doodle that I think I'm going to try and turn into a good piece. It'll be in watercolor so what you're seeing right now is just a quick color study.

it's been two years...

Yesterday was the two year anniversary of my cat's passing. I miss her alot. She was like a little sister to me. So here's a little doodle I came up with. I wish it was better, but for some reason, I've been in a drawing funk. Hopefully it goes away quickly because I have some work to do...

Here's two more doodles that I did today...I just noticed I have this affinity for the color light green...and it's not even my favorite color...hmmm =S

it's monday...

howdy all...it's monday work day...i figured i'd post some things i did on my hiatus...just doodles...

hooray! the website is done!

i finished it! well, there's a lot of little glitchy things that i'm not happy with, but there's nothing that i can do about it...all in all, i'm satisfied...now i have to work on my facebook account and getting friends and putting up artwork pics...blah blah blah...i also have to start working on new stuff...that's it for now...

m.i.a. no longer

soooo...i guess you've been wondering where i've been...honestly, no where...i've been a lazy butt when it comes to the artwork...but due to my current dire circumstances, i now have a fire lit under my ass to get somewhere with what i want to do...ever since i went to Comic Con last year, i've had this itching feeling that that's where i need to be...that's where i belong...but not as a pimple-faced geek or a Star Wars fangirl...but as an artist, a designer, an illustrator...enough with the 9-5, minimum wage bs...

with this new found appreciation for my career goal, i've worked on a few new pieces and doodles here and there...and i'm finally, and i mean FiNALLY, working on my website...i'd say it's about 80% done...here's a sneak peak...



my goal is to get it done before Wonder Con so just in case i bump into any fellow artists and exchange info, they get to see what my stuff is all about...my other goal for this year is to become a member of Girls Drawing Girls (yyyeeee! =D)...I love the artwork produced by all the awesome ladies and i know i can do it too...i just have to step up my game and get a little risque with my stuff...i've already done one watercolor piece, but i'm not liking it very much...

so for this year, i have a full plate...just pretty much producing more artwork and getting my name out there and networking like a madman *ugh*....let's see what happens *crossing fingers*
